Veterinary Surgeons

Georgie Lock BVSc, MRCVS qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2001 from Liverpool University with a degree in Veterinary Science.  She also has experience working with large animals. Georgie joined our practice in 2007.

Louise Newman  BVSc, BVetMed, MRCVS qualified as a Veterinary Surgeon in 1990 from London University as a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Batchelor of Veterinary Medicine.  She is also a trained veterinary acupuncturist (IVAS).  Louise started at the Exminster Clinic when it opened in 2005.

Carmela Burgess BSc (Hons) BVetMed (Hons) MRCVS qualified from the Royal Veterinary College, London, in 2010.  She started her career in a farm and poultry practice in Devon, before moving to a mixed practice where she worked with farm animals and horses, as well as cats, dogs and small furries.  Here she developed her interest in small animal medicine, which led to the move to St Davids in September 2014.  She splits her time between the Exeter and Exminster branches, and is currently studying for a advanced qualification in small animal medicine.  She lives with her poultry-farmer husband, two crazy lurchers, old-timer collie and small flock of 'reject' hens, and in the spare time this leaves enjoys cycling, sailing and camping.

Qualified Veterinary Nurses

Hollie Danzelman RVN  joined St Davids in 2017.  She spends most of her time at our Exminster branch, as well as spending a day a week at our hospital site.

April Davis RVN qualified from Bicton College in 2007 and has a keen interest in teaching the student veterinary nurses and anesthetics.  She joined the St Davids nursing team in 2014 and is our head nurse.  April has a very cute but very naughty border terrier puppy called Ted and is currently taking on the challange of becoming a surfer!!! April mostly works at the hospital in Exeter, but can also be found at Exminster from time to time.
