St Davids Puppy Parties

Early socialisation of puppies is one of the most important factors to consider when training your puppy, and will give them the strongest possibility of becoming a balanced and well-behaved dog.  It is vital that your puppy learns how to interact with adults, children and other dogs correctly, as well as becoming used to everyday noises.

At St Davids Vets we run a 4 week puppy party course.  This takes place at the hospital site in Exeter (next to St Davids train station), with each session starting at 7:00pm on Mondays, and lasting approximately an hour.  Puppy parties are available to all our registered clients and their puppies under the age of 16 weeks, who have had their first vaccination.

Our puppy parties are a chance for you to socialise your puppy in a clean, friendly, safe and controlled environment.  One of our qualified, registered veterinary nurses runs the classes, alongside a dog trainer.

During the course we will cover various subjects that will be very helpful in raising your puppy.  These include:

  • Behaviour and training advice, including how to stop puppies biting and jumping up!
  • House training / toilet training
  • Nutrition
  • Dog laws and how they affect you and your dog
  • Fleas, ticks and worms
  • Insurance
  • Toys and games to play with your puppy
  • Neutering
  • Dental care and grooming
  • Travelling with your pet

Your puppy will have the opportunity to play with the other puppies, and advice will be given regarding your puppy's body language and communication.

Handouts are provided at each session, and a goody bag will be given to you at the end of the course!

For further information or if you would like to book yourself onto the course, please phone 01392 271221 and speak to reception.
